Swim & Dive Team

Swim Team
All club members 17 years and younger are eligible to join the Club's Youth Swimming and Diving Team. CS&T participates in the Colonial Swimming and Diving League. Along with CS&T, the league includes teams from Heritage Swim and Tennis, the Nashawtuc Country Club, Wayland Swim and Tennis, Westford Swim and Tennis and Wedgewood Swim and Tennis. In addition, CS&T participates in a non-league meet with Russell Mill Swim and Tennis of Chelmsford.

Swimmers compete in 6 separate age groups and boys swim against boys and girls swim against girls. Events for the 6 & unders are 12 1/2 yards long in backstroke and freestyle and each swimmer has a dedicated "catcher" to ensure his/her safety. 8 & unders swim all of the strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle) for 25 yards/meters (Westford is currently the only club in the league with a 25 meter pool). 10 & unders swim 50 yards/meters for breaststroke and freestyle and 25 yards/meters for backstroke and butterfly. 50 yards/meters is the length for all strokes for 12 & unders and 14 & unders. For 17 & unders, the freestyle event is lengthened to 100 yards/meters. In addition, there is a 100 yard/meter Individual Medley event for all age groups except 6 & under and there are medley and freestyle relay teams which are made up of swimmers from different age groups. Diving events are held for those in the three older age groups.

Practices are held Monday thru Friday at 9:00 AM for the younger swimmers, 10:15 AM for the older swimmers and at 12:00 PM for diving. Meets are customarily held on Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM or Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 PM and last about 3 hours. There are 5 swimming/diving meets during the season (alternating 3 home meets and two away meets annually), one against each other team in the league. In addition, there are separate diving meets where divers from all of the teams compete. There is an All-Star meet held mid-season and a Championship meet held at the end of the season.

There is a small fee associated with participation in the swim and tennis teams (one fee covers both). Typically, this fee has been $15.00 per child with maximum family contribution of $35.00. This money is used as "seed" money to buy food (hot dogs, hamburgers, candy, etc.) that is sold at home swim meets. The fees plus the profits from these sales are used to fund pre- and post-season tennis/swim team cookouts, trophy purchases, tennis and swim equipment, etc

We need your help for our swim meets!

All of our meets are run by volunteers from each of the swim and tennis clubs…there are no paid officials. Please support the program by volunteering for meets (both home and away). We ask that you volunteer for two (2) sessions (each session is for half a swim meet) throughout the season. Those that do not volunteer will be assessed a fee of $100 by CS&T. You can use the link below (via VolunteerSpot.com) to sign up for any of our meets. Thank you for your support.
