Email Updates
8/26/09

I hope you are all enjoying the last few weeks of summer! It flew by so fast. We just wanted to send out a note encouraging all members to talk up Chelmsford Swim and Tennis Club amongst their friends. In past years, the waiting list to become a member at CS&T was fairly long (around 3-4 years) and often discouraged families from joining our swim and tennis club. However, the waiting list is shorter these days (about 1-2 years!). So we wanted to get the word out that there would be less of a wait for those who wanted to become members. CS&T is an awesome place to hang out in the summer for family members of all ages!

Also, this Friday August 28th is Bring A Guest Free Day. On Friday, no one will be charged for any guests that they bring to the club. So bring some friends and enjoy the nice weather!

And finally, we are looking for 2 new board members. These are volunteer positions and the board will meet one time per month. There will be a sign up in the club house lobby for anyone who is interested.

Second session of swim lessons will wrap up this Friday. There will be a certificate ceremony and ice cream sundae making party to follow!

The Dive-In Movie and Sleepover has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 25th. This event will start at 6:30 pm. All ages are welcome to attend the Dive-In Movie. Kids must be 8 years or older to attend the club sleepover. Sign ups will be posted in the lobby this week.

The club brunch will take place on Sunday, August 23rd at 10:00 am. There will be sign up sheets posted in the lobby this week. This will be a "pot-luck" brunch so we ask that everyone bring some sort of breakfast food (pastry, bagels, munchkins, muffins, quiche, fruit salad, etc). Thanks!

The last day that the pool will be open is Monday, September 7th.
During the month of September the club will have a reduced schedule:
Monday August 31st through Thursday September 3rd: 2:00 pm-7:00 pm
Friday September 4th through Monday September 7th: 9:00 am-8:00 pm

If you ride your bike to the club please bring a bike lock to ensure that your bike will remain safe. We do our best to make sure that our environment at CS&T is safe and secure, but a bike lock would be an additional help! Thanks.

First of all, we want to stress that this email is not meant to be critical, it is just a necessary reminder to keep our members safe and happy! We have had a few concerns recently from some of our neighbors, members, etc. about speeding on the roads around the club, down the driveway, and in the parking lot. We have a bunch of members (especially kids!) that walk or ride their bikes to the club and we need to be sure that they are safe on the roads leading to the club and on our grounds. The speed limit on the roads around the club is 30 mph and the speed limit on the club driveway is 15 mph. Also, with the basketball hoop at the end of the parking lot, we cannot afford to have anyone speeding in the lot with all of the kids around. All of our coaches stress that the kids not be late to practice, but we know that safety definitely comes first; we would rather the kids be a few minutes late than risk someone getting hurt.

And lastly, there have been a few incidents recently involving hit and runs of cars parked in our parking lot. We realize that the parking lot can be packed at times, especially on the really hot days in July when everyone is at the club, but please try to be careful when maneuvering through the parking lot. If it is the case that you do accidentally hit another car, please come tell one of the managers or lifeguards. There have been a couple cars that have received pretty significant damage due to this problem and the owners are stuck not knowing who is at fault.

We have had a safe and happy summer so far and we want to keep it that way. Thanks a bunch for all that you do! Talk to you soon.
